African accounting, reimagined
Excompta was born from a simple observation: accounting in francophone Africa remains manual, time-consuming, and error-prone. We built a platform that automates everything, from receipt to journal entry, while complying with SYSCOHADA standards.
Accounting shouldn't be a burden
In francophone Africa, most SMEs handle their accounting manually — paper receipts, Excel spreadsheets, and long hours of data entry. The result: errors, delays, and non-compliance with SYSCOHADA standards that can cost them dearly during audits.
Excompta changes this. By combining WhatsApp — the app everyone already uses — with automatic categorization and partner accountant validation, we turn a tedious weekly task into a few seconds of action. No new software to learn, no accounting knowledge required.

Our values
What guides every line of code and every accounting entry.
Trust & Security
Your financial data is encrypted, hosted on secure infrastructure, and never shared. Trust is the foundation of any accounting tool.
Speed & Simplicity
A photo receipt sent on WhatsApp becomes an accounting entry quickly. Technology should save you time, not the other way around.
Human oversight
Categorization is automatic, but a partner accountant validates. Every entry is reviewed by a professional before being integrated into your books.
Built for Africa
Designed in Benin, for businesses in the OHADA region. We understand your challenges: informal economy, multi-currency, limited access. Excompta adapts to your reality.
A word from the founder
As a developer working closely with African SMEs, I saw the same problem every day: entrepreneurs losing hours on manual bookkeeping, making errors, and struggling with SYSCOHADA compliance. Yet most of them already use WhatsApp for everything else.
That's how Excompta was born — send a receipt on WhatsApp, the receipt is categorized automatically against the OHADA chart of accounts, and you get a compliant journal entry in seconds. No software to learn, no training needed. Just the tool they already use every day. We work with partner accountants who validate the professional accuracy of every entry.
Today, our mission is clear: make professional accounting accessible to every African business, from the street vendor to the growing SME. Because compliance shouldn't be a luxury.
